Barclays 9M 2023 Earnings & Capital Generation Report

Barclays reported strong nine-month 2023 earnings with operating profit of £4.9bn and a 17.1% return on tangible equity, significantly above prior-year levels. The bank maintained a robust funding position with £423.5bn in customer deposits and £358bn in customer loans, supported by disciplined capital generation of 118 basis points. Shareholder distributions totaled £2.9bn with over 90% of attributable profit returned through dividends and buyback programs.
