PayPal Acquisition of Paidy 2021

PayPal announced the acquisition of Paidy, a Japanese buy-now-pay-later pioneer, for ¥300 billion (~$2.7 billion). The deal combines PayPal's global payments expertise with Paidy's scaled innovation in Japan's cash-heavy market, significantly expanding PayPal's capabilities and market relevance in the world's third-largest ecommerce market.
